Product Introduction
The ball mill is a key equipment for grinding materials after they are crushed. It is widely used in production industries such as cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, chemical fertilizers, ferrous and non-ferrous metal beneficiation, and glass ceramics, for dry or wet grinding of various ores and other grindable materials. The particle size of the fine powder product can be freely adjusted within the range of 200-300 mesh.
Structural Features of Ball Mill
The ball mill consists of main components including the feeding part, discharging part, rotating part, and transmission part (reducer, small transmission gear, motor, and electric control). The hollow shaft is made of cast steel with replaceable liners. The rotary gear is processed by gear hobbing of castings. The cylinder is lined with wear-resistant liners, ensuring excellent wear resistance. The machine operates smoothly with reliable performance. Depending on the material and ore discharge method, either a dry-type ball mill or a wet-type grate ball mill can be selected.

Working Principle of Ball Mill
The material is uniformly fed into the first chamber of the mill through the feeding hollow shaft screw by the feeding device. This chamber is equipped with stepped or corrugated liners and contains steel balls of various sizes. As the cylinder rotates, centrifugal force lifts the steel balls to a certain height before they cascade down, exerting impact and grinding forces on the material.
After coarse grinding in the first chamber, the material passes through a single-layer diaphragm plate into the second chamber, which is lined with flat liners and filled with steel balls for further fine grinding. The powdered material is then discharged through the discharge grate, completing the grinding process.
Applicable Materials: Various ores, metal mineral processing (gold, silver, copper, iron, etc.), cement, fertilizers, silicate products, refractory materials, glass, and more.
Note: When no water is added, the ball mill produces dry powder and is also called a dry ball mill. During ore processing, if water is added for grinding to produce slurry, it is referred to as a wet ball mill.
